My name is Heath Massey, this year I completed my 25th summer as an employee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Saline County. I’ve worn many hats during my time here, and seen lots of changes. But there are some things that remain the same...

If you are already a supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Saline County. First let me start with simply saying thank you. Your generosity has given the Club the most impactful gift – the gift of keeping our doors open for 54 years to the youth of Saline County. A tradition in our community that is felt in our school district, our neighborhoods, churches, and most importantly our homes.

Tradition is defined as a long-established custom or belief that has been passed on from one generation to another. For 54 years we have seen grandparents, parents, and their children become a part of the Club family. Generations of families continue to walk through our doors because they know and trust the meaning of this tradition.

Just like many of you, I grew up at the Club. I wasn’t a child at the Club, but I was fresh out of college when I started working here. I have learned so much over the years and grown in my faith from walking in these doors each day.

I started my career as the Athletic Director in 1999. But I realized soon they needed more than just sports. I asked myself, can I do this? That’s when God said to me, “Look I’m trying to show you something. Get out of your own way and let me lead.”

That’s exactly what God has done. He has orchestrated countless success stories and I have been privileged to watch our members grow into confident and successful adults. I am proud to have played a small part in their journey and know that the work being done at the Club would not be possible without the support you have given in the past. As we look towards the future, we remain committed to our mission and need your help again.
